We’re still here!

We’re still here! No, sadly we’re not meeting in person yet, but we are gathering online. Though it’s not the same, at least we can see each other without masks! We do long to all meet up again and to be able to welcome you into a warm hall with a friendly atmosphere. We trust this will be possible one day!

It’s been a reminder to us of many Christians around the world who live in countries without religious freedoms. Every time they try to meet up for any kind of a church service, they run the risk of being arrested. Some meet secretly, not able to raise their voices, cautiously reading the Bible and listening for a knock on the door. It’s awkward for us – we’d love to gather and raise our voices in hearty singing and to learn together how to follow Jesus – it’s not the same, but it’s no where near as bad as the conditions that many Christians face in certain places.

Whilst these current restrictions remain, we encourage you to keep into touch and to view the recorded messages and posts on this site. We are free, thankfully, to search for information about Christianity. Let’s use our freedom! If you have any questions or prayer requests, please do send them in. You can contact me on carl.meachem@gmail.com

God makes a promise in the Bible, “You will seek me and find me when you seek for me with all your heart.” God wants us to be sincere, but He is there to be found. He went so far as to come into this world to save us. In his love for us, he gave himself to save us from our sins through his death on the cross. Now alive, he offers his forgiveness and sure hope, through faith in himself.

For some of you, hope will be flickering or fading. Depression and anxiety are problems many of us suffer with. Again, if you need to get in touch to chat, please do. We can try to travel together as best we can through the restrictions at this time and look forward to emerging from this shadowy tunnel with an extra friend or two! I’ll finish this post with an invitation from Jesus himself:

“Come to me and I will give you rest—all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke—for it fits perfectly—and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls…”

Matthew 11 v28-29
